So, whats involved in the pinstriping process? Well, we'd start by discussing the project: design ideas, colour/s, size, influences...........Then, when we have agreed a date, generally I'll travel to you unless its a small item that can be sent in the post or dropped off. The surface to be 'striped is thoroughly cleaned of waxes and grease etc then the magic begins...
I use traditional enamel paints manufactured by ONE SHOT that have fantastic vibrancy and durability and have been used professionally for over 60 years.
The brushes are precision instruments and the ones I normally use are made from squirrel hair.
With the majority of symmetrical designs, just a centre-line is marked with a water soluble pencil and then the pinstriping is handpainted. This pencil line can be simply washed away once the paint has dried. The drying/curing time is dependent on conditions but on a very warm day it can be touch dry in only a few hours. (The full curing time is longer than this but I will advise you personally)Fully dried line work can be protected with good quality waxes if you feel the need but these paints are of a very high quality durable finish
(Remember, polishes are abrasive. best avoided !)
